In the January issue of CEI, Jiri Vitek of Coral3DCP Enterprise talks about the first public 3D-printed building built in a mountain environment in the Czech Republic, the Enterprise upper cable-car station in Kopřivná. The organically shaped structure, inspired by the rock formations of the Jeseníky Mountains, combines robotically printed reinforced concrete elements with monolithic structures, a green roof and an elevated viewing terrace.
Also in the January issue of CEI, Greg Faulkner of Faulkner Architects talks about the Red Rock Project in Summerlin, Nevada, which has views of the Las Vegas Strip to the east and Red Rock Canyon to the west. The durability and maintenance-free characteristics of concrete made it an excellent choice of material for the project.
