Our History

The Concrete Society was established in 1966 in the United Kingdom, arising from the need for a centralized organization dedicated to advancing concrete technology and promoting best practices in its use. The Society was formed by amalgamating several specialist groups and societies, including those focused on cement, prestressed concrete, and reinforced concrete. Its creation marked a significant step towards unifying research, development, and professional standards in concrete construction, offering a singular platform for collaboration across all sectors of the concrete industry.
