This issue marks the final stand-alone edition of Concrete Engineering International magazine. While CEI will no longer be published as a separate title, its distinctive international outlook and specialist editorial focus will continue within the pages of its sister magazine, Concrete. From early next year, members and subscribers will receive a single publication that brings together the Society’s flagship content with the technical advances, international case studies and architecturally led projects that have long been associated with CEI.
The refreshed approach responds to feedback from a comprehensive member survey, that stated a preference for a single integrated title from the Concrete Society. Allowing them to benefit from the unique mix of high-quality concrete-related content in every issue.
Fittingly, this final stand-alone issue once again demonstrates the vital role concrete plays across the world. From the construction of a new road through challenging terrain in Austria to the creation of flood-protection infrastructure for southern Manhattan in the USA, the projects featured here show how concrete continues to make ambitious and essential schemes possible.
This edition also includes an article by Minarc Architects, exploring how concrete can help deliver resilient structures within the built environment. Their perspective reinforces why concrete will remain one of the principal materials for design and construction, now and in the years ahead.
We look forward to sharing the improved content and refreshed presentation of Concrete early next year, as this exciting new chapter begins.
Editorial submissions received to the CEI editor will now be considered for Concrete magazine. Find out more in the Media Pack.
