Regions: A Year in Review – 2025

2025 was an outstanding year for our nine regions, delivering over 45 events and connecting with more than 3,500 concrete professionals across the industry.

Technical Excellence Takes Centre Stage

One of the most encouraging trends this year was the continued growth in technical events. More than 20 technical sessions were held, with nearly every region hosting at least one—and many delivering several.

Highlights included:

  • An exclusive visit to Scotland’s Glensanda Super Quarry
  • A series of breakfast seminars in Cardiff
  • Online webinars, including the return of our Midlands region
  • Numerous visits to concrete plants and recently completed projects

Additionally, two Back to Basics courses were delivered in Wales and the North West, offering practical, informative sessions for those new to concrete or in supporting roles. There are plans to expand this excellent course to more regions in 2026.

Networking That Builds Business

Beyond sharing knowledge, regional social events remain a cornerstone for networking and business development. Each region is renowned for its annual (or biannual, in Wales) lunches and dinners, and 2025 saw eight such events each attracting over 200 attendees, and in some cases double that!

Two regions—Devon and Cornwall and Northern Ireland—also hosted regional awards, with entries from both shortlisted for the National Awards.

Smaller social gatherings added variety throughout the year, including golf days, clay shooting, and quiz nights. A special mention goes to the Northern Ireland Young Members Committee for organising numerous successful social events.

Giving Back to Communities

Regional activities aren’t just about networking—they make a real difference. In 2025, our regions raised over £50,000 for charities across the UK, helping to boost profiles and provide vital support. Here is a look at some the charities our regions have supported:

Thanks to all our Volunteers

There would be no regions without the 100+ volunteers that work tirelessly throughout the year to deliver the range of technical and social events that they do – so a big thank you to them all for their commitment and hard work – making a difference to the industry and the local community!
