October and November have been busy months again for our regions with 9 events taking place across the UK, including four of our largest regional events – Scotland, North West, & Wales lunches, plus the Northern Ireland Awards Dinner.
The Northern Ireland Young Members have also been busy hosting their annual bowling competition and a quiz night in conjunction with other construction institutes.
Scotland Annual Construction Lunch
The lunch took place at the Marriott hotel, Glasgow, and was attended by over 400 professionals from across the construction sector. The event was first as Chair, for Matt Smith, who delivered the welcome address highlighting some of the great achievements by the region over the year. Special guest speaker was former Dunfermline player and manager, and now politician – Jim Leishman. After the lunch the networking carried on into the evening.

Northern Ireland Technical Visit
A site visit to see the ongoing works at the hugely significant Narrow Water Bridge project. Attendees received a fantastic technical presentation outlining the complexities and challenges of the project and how BAM UK & Ireland are overcoming them. All greatly appreciated the time given to them by BAM and a special word of thanks to Steven Oldham from Northstone Materials for organising the visit on behalf of the region.
Northern Ireland Bowling
An incredible night filled with fun and friendly competition. Congratulations to McFarland Consulting for taking home the winning title, and a shoutout to AECOM for coming in second. Special recognition goes to Gavin Hughes from McFarland Consulting for being the top bowler of the night!
