The V-funnel test to BS EN 12350-9 is used to assess the viscosity and filling ability of self-compacting concrete

– Fill funnel and strike surface
– After 10 ± 2sec open gate
– Time until can first see through gate (nearest 0.1sec)
– V-funnel flow time tv
– If not continuous – repeat
– If occurs twice concrete too viscous for test
