Devon & Cornwall visit to OUTSIDE project
The Devon and Cornwall committee have arranged a visit to IDK Architects designed OUTSIDE community project in South Devon, with a talk and walk around by the Client.
The concrete Skate Bowl is part of a rural community project in South Devon. It sits amongst a two-acre plot of land which also has a cafe and event space, allotments, a ceramics studio and a surfboard shaping workshop. The project serves as a case study for new forms of hyperlocal, sustainable rural development.
Join us at the Outside ‘shed’ for coffee and cake and learn how this new facility provides the key hub for Outside’s two-acre community-led regenerative masterplan. The highly published building built to agricultural construction principles, where the architect has sought to deliver ‘maximum impact with minimum means, that celebrated and supported local supply chains in design and procurement’, reflecting its local agricultural context and rawness of materiality.
This is a FREE event with drink and snack. Start time at 4pm and will last approx. 1.5 hours. Parking on site.
