Concrete Placing, Compacting and Finishing
Course description:
This course provides an overview of different methods of concrete transport and placing methods, best practice in compacting and finishing, and the influence of concrete mix design.
The presentation shows how versatile concrete can be, and the importance of understanding the concrete and the influence of placing methods on achieving good on-site practice. For example: If the discharge method is insufficient to reach the element being cast then it may lead to an operative adulterating with additional water; potentially leading to under strength, less durable concrete, defects.
The course is designed for all those involved in concreting operations.
